I get great joy out of helping other people and have since a very young age. I especially like to teach others how to do something and watch them learn and succeed.
I started Intentional Fortune primarily as a way to teach others about the professional, financial, and personal lessons I’ve learned over the years. I want visitors to this blog to learn something useful and be equipped with the mindset and tools to get ahead both professionally and financially.
I want them to avoid the mistakes I’ve made and leave the website better equipped to face the world.
My Dream of Working From Home
In addition to the reason above, I also have selfish reasons for starting this blog. Since I graduated college, I have dreamed of working from home as boss of my own online business.
Another reason is my wife and I plan to have children soon. I want to be home as much as possible with my wife and children. I want to see them more than weekends and a couple of hours in the morning and evening.
Freedom to Pursue Other Dreams
Ultimately, I plan on the blog being my primary source of income and giving me the freedom to pursue other dreams.
This includes creating a nonprofit that focuses on helping people in the surrounding communities. It would help them get back on their feet financially and provide a free education that includes financial and professional topics such as how and where to find jobs, how to make more money, and how to create a budget. The nonprofit would also provide funding for additional professional and financial classes to local high schools. Most secondary schools, and even some colleges, don’t teach these topics; especially in the depth and breadth required to cover the situations they’ll face in real life.
Another dream of mine is to travel the world. I’ve been to Ireland, Japan, Argentina, and many Caribbean islands, but I’d like to see more. I’d like to see the rest of the US as well as other countries on my bucket list.
